US Rowing is a nonprofit membership organization by the United States Olympic Committee a the national governing body for the sport of rowing in the United States.

In order to participate in RGCC all athletes must also be active members of US Rowing.  If you are already a member, and your membership will expire before June 15, 2024, please renew before the beginning of the spring season.  Go to the USRowing Membership Portal to either join or renew.  If renewing, you will need your US Rowing member number. If this is your first time, you'll need to create an account.

Our club code is UTGP2.  Choose basic membership.

Registration for Spring 2024 is now closed.

New to crew?  No problem!  New athletes in grades 9, 10 and 11 who would like to try crew for the spring season are welcome!

REGISTRATION FORMS:
Team Snap
You can choose to pay with a credit card during the check-out process, or pay offline. If you select the “pay offline” option, please submit a check to Karen Conen for $1,800 payable to Radnor Girls Crew Club. This should be submitted with the hard copy forms as outlined below.

New Rowers! Please note, new rowers (those who have not rowed at all this school year) must also pay a one-time fee of $70 to cover the annual Hines Rowing Center fee. This must be added to the spring registration fee (for a total of $1,870).

RHS Permission to Treat

PIAA
If your daughter has NOT participated in an RHS sport yet this school year, the entire PIAA packet must be completed and a health physical must be done before she can participate in the spring season.

Returning Athletes ONLY: Please note that returning athletes and athletes that participated in another fall or winter sport only need to fill out Section 7 of the PIAA forms

This form is to be signed by both parents or guardian and athletes and is expected to be read closely and adhered to.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE SEASON:
Spring season is our busiest time of the year with athletes participating in a minimum of seven regattas between March and May.  

ALL PRACTICES ARE MANDATORY.  In the event that an athlete must miss practice, then they must inform the coach in advance. 

PRACTICE LOCATION:
All practices are held at the Hines Rowing Center located at 801 Washington Street in Conshohocken.

START DATE:  
Start: Tuesday, February 20, 2024

Practices will be held Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays (off Wednesdays).  The schedule will be posted to Team Snap.

MANDATORY SPRING BREAK PRACTICES:
There will be mandatory practice for all RGCC athletes during spring break Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (March 25th-28th).  This is a critical week to prepare the athletes for the regattas.

CARPOOLS:
RGCC captains will arrange carpools from the high school to the Boathouse for upperclass athletes.  The freshman carpool team from the fall will remain the same and all new freshman joining in the spring will be worked into the carpool.  This will be finalized before the first practice.

REGATTAS:
Regattas will begin in March and are held on the weekends.  RGCC will participate in a minimum of seven regattas including five flicks, City Championships and The Stotesbury Cup Regatta.  Participation in the Mid Atlantic and /or Scholastic Rowing Association of America (SRAA) Regattas will be on a boat by boat basis.   A complete schedule of regattas will be posted to TeamSnap and on the RGCC website.  All athletes are expected to arrive at the river two hours in advance of race times.

COST:
$1,800

**New rowers ONLY must also include one-time $70 Hines Center Rowing Fee

**Late fee: $75 if paperwork is received after 1/26/24

UNIFORMS:
Upperclass athletes are required to purchase a unisuit for all regattas if they do not already have one.  Novice rowers are not required to purchase the unisuit. More information about uniform orders will be communicated after registration is complete. 

FINANCIAL AID:
RGCC offers a limited amount of need-based financial assistance to qualified families, up to 30% of dues. To apply for financial aid contact [email protected]. All requests and related information are strictly confidential.
 
PARENT MEETINGS/COMMUNICATIONS:
We have monthly parent meetings (typically the second Tuesday of the month.)  Our first meeting will be in person at RHS and all other meetings will be via Zoom. Communication with dates will be forthcoming. One parent/guardian per family is expected to attend; there is a lot of information to share, especially once regattas begin. Communications will continue via email and social media throughout the season.

WINTER REGISTRATION

Registration for 2023-24 Winter Training is now closed.


The goal of winter training is to improve overall strength and conditioning.  Sessions will consist of time spent on the rowing machines, body weight exercises, and team competition. Additionally, there are two 2K erg competitions, The Mainline Slide at LM and US Rowing Erg Champs in Atlantic City that the girls may elect to enter. Information on both competitions will be provided at a later date.

 

Start Date: Monday 11/27/23

End Date: 2/16/24

Timing:  Every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday:  (3:30-5:00 PM).

Practices will be held at RHS and at Hines Rowing Center. Schedule to be posted in advance on TeamSnap. 

(NOTE: Off the week of 12/25 and Monday, 1/2/24.  Practice resumes Tuesday, 1/2/24)

All practices will be added to TeamSnap, where the girls are expected to track their availability
