Spring 2021 Mulch Fundraiser

Who's ready for spring 2021? Forty-two RGCC athletes and our coaches, that's for certain. One of our launches, though, may not make it to summer.

To raise money for this substantial purchase, we are selling black-dyed mulch, brown-dyed mulch and hardwood mulch from Main Line Gardens. A two cubic foot bag is $6, and if you order 10 or more bags and live in Radnor Township, we'll deliver it to your driveway. (Mulch can also be picked up from the junior lot of Radnor High School.)

In need of a cubic yard (or more)? We've done the math for you! Fourteen bags equals one cubic yard.

Order deadline: March 29, 2021
Pick-up/delivery: April 17, 2021

Support RGCC

Radnor Girls Crew Club is a 501(c)(3) is a parent-run and parent-funded club within Radnor High School. We are not a school-financed sport and only receive $4,250 from RTSD annually in a budget that approximates $150,000. Because of the high cost of equipment, our commitment to coaching excellence and rising boathouse costs, fundraising is necessary to keep our dues manageable.

Fundraising is a culture within all crew clubs, both high school and collegiate. Please note that while RGCC parents plan and organize fundraisers, the intention is to draw additional funding from the community, not to place additional financial burden on our RGCC families. We understand that rowing is not an inexpensive sport, and our fundraising efforts help defray costs. All fundraising proceeds are used for operating expenses, equipment and scholarships.

Past Fundraising Events

2020 Ergathon
Each fall RGCC organizes an ergathon, a classic crew fundraising event where athletes row a specified time on rowing machines (ergs) and ask contributors to sponsor them. The money we raised during the fall 2020 event will be used to fund scholarships and to support our 2020-2021 operating costs.
In light of all the turmoil Covid-19 has wrought, we wanted to rally support from our friends, families and neighbors by celebrating our first responders. The Radnor Township Police Department  graciously offered to provide a few policemen, and some of our local doctors  also signed on to row with our athletes during the Ergathon.  We capped the successful afternoon with a “Cops, Jocks & Docs” competition.

2019 Ergathon and South Wayne Porchfest
In the fall of 2019, RGCC demonstrated their community and team spirit during a two-day fundraising weekend. On Saturday our athletes sold snacks and raffle tickets at the 2019 South Wayne PorchFest. The following day, athletes participated in our annual ergathon at the Wayne Fall Festival in Radnor. Together, the events raised enough money to purchase a new launch.
