ALL PRACTICES ARE MANDATORY. In the event that an athlete must miss practice, then they must inform the coach in advance.
MANDATORY SPRING BREAK PRACTICES:
There will be mandatory practice for all RGCC athletes during spring break Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (April 3 - 6). This is a critical week to prepare the athletes for the regattas.
CARPOOLS:
RGCC captains will arrange carpools from the high school to the Boathouse for upperclass athletes. The freshman carpool team from the fall will remain the same and all new freshman joining in the spring will be worked into the carpool. This will be finalized before the first practice.
REGATTAS:
Regattas will begin in March and are held on the weekends. RGCC will participate in a minimum of seven regattas including five flicks, City Championships and The Stotesbury Cup Regatta. Participation in the Mid Atlantic and /or Scholastic Rowing Association of America (SRAA) Regattas will be on a boat by boat basis. A complete schedule of regattas will be posted to TeamSnap. All athletes are expected to arrive at the river two hours in advance of race times.

Late fee: $75 if paperwork is received after 1/13/23
UNIFORMS:
Upperclass athletes are required to purchase a unisuit for all regattas if they do not already have one. Novice rowers are not required to purchase the unisuit. More information about uniform orders will be communicated after registration is complete.
FINANCIAL AID:
RGCC offers a limited amount of need-based financial assistance to qualified families, up to 30% of dues. To apply for financial aid contact [email protected] All requests and related information are strictly confidential.
PARENT MEETINGS/COMMUNICATIONS:
We have in-person monthly parent meetings (typically the second Tuesday of the month in the RHS Black Box or Library.) Communication with dates will be forthcoming. One parent/guardian per family is expected to attend; there is a lot of information to share, especially once regattas begin. Communications will continue via email and social media.
