Fall Season Registration

Fall Season 2023 Registration is Closed

Radnor Girls Crew Club (RGCC) operates a Varsity/JV Program for returning athletes and a Freshmen/Novice Program for first-year athletes (grades 9-11).  Athletes are welcome to participate all school year (fall, winter and spring) or just the fall or spring.

New to crew?  No problem!  New athletes are welcome and there are no cuts!  Come try this amazing sport and meet a fantastic group of athletes!

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
RGCC athletes must register via TeamSnap using the link provided below. Families can
choose to pay with a credit card during the check-out process, or can select the “pay offline” option. If choosing the “pay offline” option, families must submit a check payable to Radnor Girls Crew Club along with some additional hard copy forms that are linked below.

FEES:
The fee for fall season is $950.00.
There is also a one-time annual Hines Rowing Facility Usage Fee: $70.00
(Please note, if your daughter participated in a 2023 Learn To Row camp or 2023 Preseason, you do NOT need to pay this fee again.  It is ONE-TIME only)
Checks may be made payable to RGCC.

**
There is an annual USRowing membership fee that is payable directly to the USRowing organization.  Please see link above under US Rowing information.  This fee does NOT go to RGCC.

Late fees and additional information: There is a $75 late fee if packet is received after August 25, 2023; fee may also be assessed if a significant amount of information is missing. If your registration is late, we cannot guarantee a spot in a carpool.

If you register immediately prior to the first practice or after practices have already begun: Please allow up to five days for processing of paperwork. Do not send your daughter to practice until you have received confirmation from the RGCC recording secretary.

All athletes must be registered and paid in full before fall season begins. Under no circumstances will an athlete who has not completed payment and paperwork in full be allowed on the water.

FINANCIAL AID:
RGCC offers a limited amount of need-based financial assistance to qualified families, up to 30% of dues. To apply for financial aid contact

PRACTICE SCHEDULE:
Upperclassmen ONLY Week 1:
The first day of practice will be Tuesday, September 5th at Radnor High School.  Upperclassmen will then meet at the boat house for practice the following Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  All practices after that will follow the regular schedule.

Novice/Freshman Rowers ONLY Week 1:
The first practice for Novice/Freshman rowers will be Saturday, September 9th at 9:00 AM.  We ask that one parent stay for a few minutes for a parent meeting to hear from Coach Travis about expectations for the season.

Regular Fall Season Practice Schedule:
Athletes will attend practices four weekdays after school plus Saturdays. ALL PRACTICES ARE MANDATORY.  In the event that an athlete must miss practice, then they must inform the coach in advance.

PRACTICE LOCATION:
All practices (except for the first one on 9/5) are held at the Hines Rowing Center located at 801 Washington Street in Conshohocken.

REGATTAS:
In the Fall, regattas normally run on various weekends from late September to Mid-November.

Tentative Fall 2023 schedule:

  • Kings Head (Upper Merion BC): 9/24
  •  TBD: Scrimmage @Core Creek: 9/30 or 10/1
  •  Navy Day: 10/15
  •  Head Of the Charles Regatta (Boston): 10/19-10/22 *Entries announced 9/6
  •  Head of the Schuylkill Regatta : 10/28-10/29
  •  Mercer Fall Classic: 11/5.
  •  TBD: Frostbite Regatta (Mercer): 11/11.Braxton Regatta (Mercer): 11/12.

INCLEMENT WEATHER:
When weather conditions make it unsafe for athletes to travel to practice and/or to be on the water, we will communicate to parents and athletes as early in the day as possible, with safety as the top priority.

TRANSPORTATION:
Because RHS does not provide any bus transportation, we have a parent-run freshman/novice carpool. For upperclassmen, the captains organize carpools (nominal fee to the driver for gas expense); a spot in the carpool is not guaranteed because it depends on the number of drivers and riders - and each season is different.

UNIFORMS:
Upperclass athletes are required to purchase a unisuit for all regattas if they do not already have one.  Novice rowers are not required to purchase the unisuit. More information about uniform orders and deadlines will be communicated after registration is complete.

PARENT MEETINGS/COMMUNICATIONS:
We host monthly parent meetings (typically the second Tuesday of the month;) - One parent/guardian per family is expected to attend; there is a lot of information to share, especially once regattas begin. Our first meeting will be in person with the remaining meetings to be conducted via Zoom.  Links will be sent prior to the meetings.  Additional communications will continue via email and social media.

FRESHMEN/NOVICE:
RGCC understands how overwhelming crew is for athletes and families who are new to the sport. If you have questions, Laura Lebaudy, RGCC corresponding secretary, also serves as a liaison for new families. She will be a go-to resource. Her email is [email protected]. We’re here to help you navigate!
